JK Urges State to Honour Fallen TNI Soldiers
Former Vice President Jusuf Kalla has urged the state to bestow the highest honours on TNI soldiers who perished while carrying out their duties in the peacekeeping mission in Lebanon. Known as JK, Jusuf Kalla also reminded the government to ensure the welfare of the victims’ families.
“Agar pemerintah juga memberikan jaminan kepada keluarga yang ditinggalkan karena mereka itu gugur saat melaksanakan tugas nasional dan internasional atas nama PBB,” said JK via his Instagram account @jusufkalla, posted on Tuesday, 31 March 2026.
The Chairman of the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) also conveyed his profound grief over the death of the TNI soldiers in the Israeli attack on Lebanon. JK stated that Israel never differentiates its attack targets. “Apakah tugasnya perdamaian atau apa pun, Israel akan menewaskan atau melawan semua itu,” JK remarked.
The Aceh peace negotiator then urged Indonesia to be cautious and firm towards Israel. “Karena itu kita harus hati-hati. Kita harus tegas menghadapi Israel dan Indonesia harus dalam posisi itu,” he said.
