JK Says Claim of AI Video by Rismon Sianipar Fails to Address the Substance
The government faces a policy dilemma with no truly comfortable options.
Vice President of Indonesia’s 10th and 12th administrations, Jusuf Kalla, has responded to the video involving Rismon Sianipar, claimed to be AI-generated, stating that it fails to address the substance of the allegations. The video is known to mention him funding Roy Suryo regarding the authenticity of the diploma of Indonesia’s 7th President, Joko Widodo.
“He only says it wasn’t him who did it, but he doesn’t deny the content. He doesn’t deny it, he only denies that he made it,” Kalla said at the National Police Headquarters in South Jakarta on Wednesday, 8 April 2026.
According to him, Rismon Sianipar’s statement claiming the video as an artificial intelligence (AI) product does not automatically refute the allegations within it. He believes the rebuttal should firmly address the narrative’s substance, not just the video’s creator.
“He doesn’t deny that I paid Rp5 billion. If he denies that it’s untrue, it might mean something,” he emphasised.
Previously, Rismon Sianipar’s legal representative, Jahmada Girsang, denied any mention of Jusuf Kalla’s name as the funder behind the issue of the fake diploma of Indonesia’s 7th President, Joko Widodo (Jokowi). Jahmada claimed that the video was created using Artificial Intelligence (AI).
Jusuf Kalla (JK) views Rismon Sianipar’s rebuttal on the AI video regarding Jokowi’s diploma as failing to address the substance of the Rp5 billion funding allegation. Kalla considers the statement not merely criticism but a serious insult to his integrity as a former state official.
Jusuf Kalla’s legal team has responded to the AI video claim from Rismon Sianipar’s side. Abdul Haji Talaohu emphasised that the video evidence must be tested for credibility and prepared new Criminal Code articles.
Jusuf Kalla’s legal team submitted three video evidences to the National Police Criminal Investigation Agency when reporting Rismon Sianipar and four YouTube accounts related to the hoax of Rp5 billion fund flow to Roy Suryo.
Vice President of the 10th and 12th RI administrations, Jusuf Kalla, reported Rismon Sianipar to the National Police Criminal Investigation Agency regarding allegations of Rp5 billion fund flow to question Jokowi’s diploma.
This special case hearing was conducted at the request of Roy Suryo and associates.
The controversy over the fake diploma allegations directed at former President Joko Widodo is now beginning to gain clarity.
The legalisation column should not have been deleted. This is in accordance with the provisions of Law No. 14 of 2008 on Public Information Disclosure (KIP).
Rector of Gadjah Mada University (UGM), Ova Emilia, affirmed that Joko Widodo, the 7th President of the Republic of Indonesia, is a UGM alumnus. This is supported by several authentic and valid documents.
