JK Reports Rismon over Allegations of Funding Diploma Case, Jokowi Responds
Tenth and twelfth Vice President of Indonesia, Jusuf Kalla (JK), has reported Rismon Sianipar to the National Police’s Criminal Investigation Agency (Bareskrim Polri) after being accused of funding the fake diploma case. Seventh President of Indonesia, Joko Widodo (Jokowi), has provided a response. To the media, Jokowi stated that he supports JK’s step in reporting the matter to the police. “Yes, it’s good, hand it over to the legal process, that’s a good thing. Good. I don’t want to speculate, hand everything over to the existing legal process,” Jokowi said when met at his residence in Sumber, Banjarsari, Solo City, as reported by detikJateng on Friday (10/4/2026). Regarding the mastermind behind the fake diploma, Jokowi refused to speculate. Instead, he urged that it be left to the legal process to reveal everything. “I don’t want to speculate regarding names, because that requires evidence, legal facts. So this is the same, hand everything over to the existing legal process,” he explained. Previously, JK denied the allegations of being a donor to Roy Suryo and associates related to the controversy over the fake diploma of seventh President of Indonesia Joko Widodo (Jokowi). Feeling defamed, JK reported the accusation to Bareskrim Polri. “In the media, news has spread based on statements in quotes from Mr Rismon Sianipar, that I funded Roy Suryo and his friends by Rp 50 billion to question Jokowi’s diploma,” JK said at his residence in South Jakarta on Sunday (5/4).
