Jusuf Kalla, Indonesia’s 10th and 12th Vice President, received a delegation from the Central Leadership of the Islamic Youth Mosque Association of the Indonesian Mosque Council (PP PRIMA DMI) at his residence in Brawijaya, Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta, on Sunday, 31 May 2026.

The PP PRIMA DMI delegation was led by General Secretary Afandi Ismail Hasan, accompanied by Digital Literacy Director RM Indra Syahfirman, Youth Director Hotmartua Simanjuntak, Halal Center Director Raden Ahmad Nabhan, and other executives.

During the meeting, PP PRIMA DMI General Secretary Affandi Ismail Hasan outlined plans to hold an 11th anniversary celebration and the launch of the Halal Center, which will be a strategic initiative to enhance public halal literacy.

Affandi explained that the 11th anniversary would focus on strengthening halal awareness among young people, particularly mosque youth, while supporting the government’s accelerated implementation of the mandatory halal policy set for October 2026.

‘The 11th anniversary of PRIMA DMI is an opportunity to boost halal literacy among mosque youth, making a tangible contribution to the government’s target of implementing the mandatory halal policy by October 2026 for the welfare of the public and consumer protection,’ he said.

In response, Jusuf Kalla expressed support for the Halal Center launch. He stated that the concepts of halal and thayyib offer universal benefits and are not exclusively for Muslims.

JK stressed that halal and thayyib principles guarantee product quality, safety, and goodness, benefiting all societal groups regardless of religious background.

Meanwhile, PP PRIMA DMI Halal Center Director Raden Ahmad Nabhan explained that the PP PRIMA DMI Halal Center aims to simplify halal certification processes for the public, particularly businesses, in Indonesia.
