Indonesia’s 10th and 12th Vice President, Jusuf Kalla (JK), is convinced that the diploma of Indonesia’s 7th President, Joko Widodo, is authentic. According to him, this protracted polemic can be resolved in a very simple manner to avoid further draining the nation’s energy. This statement was made by JK after reporting digital forensics expert Rismon Hasiholan Sianipar to the National Police Criminal Investigation Agency, on Wednesday (8/4). JK feels aggrieved by accusations that he funded the movement questioning the authenticity of Jokowi’s diploma. ‘Actually, the issue is simple, because I am confident that Mr Jokowi has an authentic diploma. We should just stop this matter by having Mr Jokowi simply show his authentic diploma,’ said JK at National Police Headquarters in Jakarta, on Wednesday (8/4). JK assesses that this diploma polemic has lasted too long, around the last two to three years. He regrets the wasted time and social dignity due to inter-group disputes that do not end. ‘Just show it to the public, and it’s done. I am confident Mr Jokowi will do so, rather than us quarrelling for years, losing time and social dignity. That is what we hope for,’ he added. JK’s report has been officially received by the National Police Criminal Investigation Agency with number LP/B/135/IV/SPKT Bareskrim Polri dated Wednesday, 8 April 2026. This report stems from the dissemination of information deemed slanderous and defamatory. In his report, JK targets several parties, among others: The suspects are alleged to have violated Article 263 and Article 434 of the Criminal Code, as well as Article 27A in conjunction with Article 45 paragraph (4) of the Electronic Information and Transactions Law regarding the spread of false news, slander, and defamation. This legal step is taken by JK to clear his name from accusations of being the funder of the fake diploma issue.
