JIS Station Update: Platform Completed, Pedestrian Bridge Connection Underway, Ready for Operation in June 2026
JAKARTA – Construction of the Electric Rail Train (KRL) Station at Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) in Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta, continues apace.
If in January 2026 construction had only reached the stage of an incomplete platform, the site now shows significant progress.
Based on observations at the location on Saturday (11/4/2026), the station platform on the west side of JIS is already standing.
The platform is also equipped with a canopy made of silver-coloured galvalum spandek material.
The canopy is supported by a green-painted iron frame, making the station’s appearance brighter.
The station entrance is planned to face Jalan RE Martadinata towards Pademangan, North Jakarta.
Construction of this area is taking place directly behind the already standing platform.
The iron frame of the front station roof area, coloured silver, is still under construction.
Project workers wearing orange vests were seen busy welding the iron frames to form a sturdy unit.
In addition to the roof, the floor of the entrance area is being worked on using cement and paving blocks.
This entrance area is also designed to connect with the JIS–Ancol Pedestrian Overpass (JPO), which is 466 metres long.
To connect the station with the JPO, a pathway approximately 100 metres long and about two metres wide is being built.
This connecting pathway now appears formed and is equipped with a silver-coloured galvalum canopy, similar to the platform roof.
Previously, Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung stated that construction of the JIS Station is targeted for completion in May 2026.
The station’s operation is planned for June 2026, coinciding with Jakarta’s 499th Birthday (HUT).
“In May next month, hopefully the KRL for JIS will also be finished. Thus, June will become a birthday gift for Jakarta,” said Pramono at Jakarta City Hall in Central Jakarta on Thursday (9/4/2026).
