JIS Station Targeted for Completion in May 2026, to Begin Operations During DKI Anniversary
Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has assured that the construction of the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) Station will be completed in May 2026.
This certainty was conveyed by Pramono following a meeting with executives from PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) (KAI).
“For JIS, it is estimated to be completed in May, and it will operate in June,” Pramono stated when met in Ancol, North Jakarta, on Tuesday (7/4/2026).
Thus, the public can rely on the KRL for travel when attending events organised by the DKI Provincial Government.
“In this way, in June during Jakarta’s anniversary, if the activities are held at JIS or Ancol, it will certainly be very easy for people from anywhere to attend at JIS or Ancol,” Pramono said.
In addition to the JIS Station construction, Pramono mentioned that the meeting also discussed several other transportation projects.
Among them are the completion of the MRT project, the development of the Kota Tua area, and plans for a 16-kilometre electric train (KRL) line connecting Rawajati to Tanjung Priok.
“From Rawajati to Tanjung Priok, which will be an electric train, and that will significantly help ease transportation in Jakarta,” he explained.
