JIS Station Set to Complete Next Month, Pramono: Operations Possible in June 2026
REPUBLIKA.CO.ID, JAKARTA – The construction of the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) station in North Jakarta has entered its final stage. The KRL commuter line station is estimated to be completed next month.
Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung stated that he had recently held a meeting with the President Director of PT KAI. In that meeting, he received information that the JIS Station would complete its construction in May 2026.
“Coincidentally, we just had a meeting with the President Director of KAI and his team. For JIS, it is estimated to be completed in May,” he said in the Ancol area, North Jakarta, on Tuesday (7/4/2026).
However, the station may not be able to operate immediately after construction is completed. It is likely that the JIS Station will only be able to operate in June 2026.
“It will operate in June,” Pramono said.
In the meeting with PT KAI executives, Pramono also discussed several other projects. One of them concerns the MRT Phase 2 project to Kota Tua.
“We also discussed other matters, including the completion of the MRT including to Kota Tua, as well as the 16-kilometre electric train route from Rawajati to Tanjung Priok,” he said.
According to Pramono, this is an effort by the Jakarta Provincial Government to improve transportation facilities in Jakarta. As a result, the public will have easier access to public transportation.
