The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government inaugurated the KRL Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) Station on Monday (22/6). The station, located directly beside JIS, has begun serving passengers boarding and alighting from the KRL. Transport Minister Dudy Purwagandhi acknowledged that the station’s facilities are still incomplete, as it currently has only one platform. Consequently, services are limited to KRL journeys from Tanjung Priok Station towards Jakarta Kota Station. “It is indeed still one platform, and we have conveyed to the DKI Government that we will develop it further,” he said at the KRL JIS Station on Monday (22/6). He confirmed that the station has been serving passengers since today. The station’s presence is expected to enhance public transport connectivity in North Jakarta, especially as public transport in the area remains relatively scarce. Dudy added that his ministry will continue efforts to improve the facilities and infrastructure at the KRL JIS Station, including constructing a platform on the other side so the station can serve passengers from the opposite direction, from Ancol to Tanjung Priok. “So it is already active and we will increasingly develop it as a permanent station. We expect that within the next year, the platform construction will also be completed,” he said. For context, the station on the pink line KRL route can currently only serve journeys from the direction of Tanjung Priok to Ancol, with a headway of approximately 20-30 minutes. This means KRL passengers from Jakarta Kota to Tanjung Priok cannot yet alight directly at the KRL JIS Station. Passengers from Jakarta Kota or Kampung Bandan must first travel to Tanjung Priok Station before they can alight at the KRL JIS Station on the return journey.
