JIS Station Construction to be Completed in May 2026
Jakarta (ANTARA) - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo has assured that the construction of the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) Station will be completed in May 2026. “For JIS, it is estimated to be finished in May, and it will operate in June,” Pramono said when met in Ancol, North Jakarta, on Tuesday. Pramono stated that he had discussed the matter in a meeting with executives from PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) (KAI). Pramono noted that the operational start of JIS Station will coincide with the Birthday of DKI Jakarta, which falls on 22 June. Thus, the public will later be able to use the KRL to travel when attending events organised by the DKI Provincial Government. “Thus, in June during Jakarta’s birthday, if the activities are held at JIS or Ancol, it will certainly be very easy for people from anywhere to attend and reach JIS or Ancol,” Pramono said. In addition, Pramono mentioned that in the meeting, he also discussed several other transportation projects. Among them are the completion of the MRT project, the development of the Kota Tua area, and plans for a 16-kilometre electric train (KRL) line connecting Rawajati to Tanjung Priok. “From Rawajati to Tanjung Priok, which will be an electric train, and that will significantly help ease transportation in Jakarta,” Pramono explained. Not only that, the DKI Provincial Government together with KAI also discussed the integration of several strategic stations in the city centre, including the Dukuh Atas area, BNI Station, and Karet Station, which will soon be integrated.
