JIS KRL Station Inaugurated Today, Coinciding with Jakarta's 499th Anniversary
The Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) KRL Station was officially inaugurated on Monday (22/6), coinciding with the 499th anniversary of Jakarta City. “Today, together with the Deputy Governor, I will officially inaugurate the KRL line to JIS,” said DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung Wibowo following the 499th Jakarta Anniversary Commemoration Ceremony at Monas. Pramono stated that the presence of the JIS KRL Station would make the area more organised and better. In addition to the KRL Station, Pramono also plans to inaugurate a connecting bridge between JIS and Ancol. “But the most important thing is that, in the context of these five centuries, Jakarta is preparing itself to provide comfort for its citizens,” he said. Pramono emphasised that his administration is not solely focused on infrastructure development, but also on providing a sense of comfort, security, and care for the community. “We are also renovating Taman Semanggi, which will hopefully be visible soon, and at the HI Roundabout we will now connect the Grand Hyatt, Pullman, Mandarin, and Kempinski via an underground link that also provides direct access to the MRT,” he stated. On Monday (22/6), Jakarta celebrated its 499th anniversary. As part of the celebrations, the Jakarta Provincial Government is providing free public transport services and access to several tourist attractions. DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono announced that on 22, 27, and 28 June 2026, Jakarta’s public transport and tourism facilities would be free for holders of Indonesian ID cards, not just Jakarta ID cards. “On the 22nd, 27th, and 28th, both public transport and tourist facilities owned by Jakarta will be free,” Pramono told reporters on Sunday (21/6).
