The Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) will add platforms at the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) KRL Station in North Jakarta, which officially began operating today. The platform expansion is targeted for completion in 2027.

“This currently has only one platform, and we have informed the DKI Jakarta Government that we will develop it further. I need to tell everyone that as of today, this station is active and can serve passengers,” said Minister of Transportation Dudy Purwaghandi after inaugurating the JIS KRL Station on Monday (22/6/2026).

Dudy stated that the travel time from JIS KRL Station to Jakarta Kota Station is approximately 15 minutes. The Ministry of Transportation confirmed the station will operate permanently.

“The end-to-end distance is roughly 15 minutes, or about 10 minutes from here to Kota. So it is active and we will increasingly develop it as a permanent station. We expect the target to be completed within the next year,” he explained.

He noted that KRL schedules can be adjusted to match events taking place at JIS. Dudy cited the example of MRT service schedule adjustments when events occur near stations.

“For train scheduling, we will adjust it to events organised by the regional government, Ancol, or JIS. As you know, for certain events we extend the service hours of trains like the MRT,” he said.

“When there are specific events, like recently at Java Jazz, we also extended the operations of train services and station services,” he added.

Currently, KRL trains passing through JIS Station only operate until 9:30 PM WIB. Dudy assured that operating hours will be extended during special events.

“As it stands, we operate until 9:30 PM WIB, but if there is a special event in this area, operations will be extended,” he concluded.

The JIS station consists of one platform and serves the Tanjung Priok–Jakarta Kota KRL route.
