Jember, East Java — A delegation from Jinhua City, China, explored potential cooperation with the Jember Regency Government, East Java, during a visit to the region on Tuesday evening.

“The visit from the Jinhua City delegation tonight represents an important momentum in strengthening friendship ties while opening opportunities for strategic cooperation between the two regions,” said the Regent of Jember, Muhammad Fawait, at the Pendapa Wahyawibawagraha in Jember.

This official visit, aimed at exploring sister-city cooperation, serves as a significant moment for Jember Regency to expand its international cooperation network. It also provides a platform to introduce the region’s various potentials, ranging from the economic, trade, investment, and education sectors to culture and the development of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs).

“We are ready to engage in mutually beneficial cooperation, which must, of course, be underlined by the goal of bringing prosperity to the people of Jember,” he stated.

He explained that the proposed areas of cooperation include the economy, education, health, and waste management, noting that the Jember Regency Government will ensure a secure environment for investors. He further emphasised the government’s commitment to building productive and mutually beneficial international relations to drive regional progress and public welfare.

Mr Yang Jianming, Vice Chairman of the Jinhua City Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) Representative, stated that they are opening opportunities for Jember’s local products, such as coffee and cocoa, to be marketed in Jinhua.

“The characteristics of coffee and cocoa products align with Yiwu City in Jinhua, which serves as one of the world’s largest commodity distribution centres; therefore, Jember’s products have significant potential for the market there,” he remarked.

The delegation from Jinhua City, Zhejiang Province, People’s Republic of China, was welcomed with performances by JFC talents and Patrol music, traditional arts unique to Jember Regency that reflect the region’s rich local culture and spirit of togetherness, at the Pendapa Wahyawibawagraha.
