Former First Lady of the United States, Jill Biden, made a shocking revelation about her husband, President Joe Biden’s performance in the 2024 presidential debate, which proved disastrous. Jill admitted she thought her husband was having a stroke during the debate against Donald Trump.

‘I was terrified, as I had never seen Joe like that before or since. Never,’ Jill Biden told CBS News.

‘I didn’t know what was happening,’ she said. ‘As I watched, I thought, “Oh my God, he’s having a stroke.” And it terrified me half to death.’

The emotional interview between Jill Biden and CBS News Sunday Morning’s Rita Braver is scheduled to air next Sunday.

As one of her husband’s most influential advisers, Jill Biden has been by Joe Biden’s side throughout his political career. She was also among those who urged him to withdraw from the 2024 race after the June debate performance triggered mass panic within the Democratic Party.

During the debate, Biden’s performance at age 81 immediately raised voter concerns about his age and mental sharpness. His voice sounded hoarse, which his campaign attributed to a cold, and he appeared to lose focus mid-argument.

Despite the campaign initially insisting Biden would not step down, mounting pressure from within the party forced him to withdraw and endorse Vice President Kamala Harris after a series of missteps in the weeks following the debate, including his frail appearance after a Covid-19 diagnosis.

Harris then ran as the Democratic nominee just three months before the election, only to lose to Donald Trump. In her memoir, Harris later delivered sharp criticism of Biden’s initial decision to push for a second term.

‘It was Joe and Jill’s decision,’ we all said, like a mantra, as if we were all hypnotised,’ Harris wrote in her memoir. ‘Was it a blessing or a blunder? Looking back, I think it was a blunder.’ (BBC/Z-2)
