Jihad at home
Jihad at home
From Media Indonesia
In the wake of the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001, that destroyed the twin towers of the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, followed by the U.S. government's retaliation by bombing Afghanistan, here, in Indonesia anti-American demonstrations and calls for jihad continue to spread. The calls urge people to rally for jihad in Afghanistan and to boycott U.S. products in Indonesia as well as to carry out sweeping on foreign citizens.
These acts are orchestrated by some Muslim groups, communities that uphold Islamic principles that teach us to think with our conscience and to put aside emotions in taking actions.
Remember that we have witnessed many tragedies in our own country. Many people still live in misery and poverty. That calls for jihad!
