JICT's Strategy to Strengthen Position in Logistics Flow

One of Indonesia’s largest container terminals, Jakarta International Container Terminal (JICT), recorded a throughput of more than 2 million TEUs in 2025. Over 27 years of operations, the company has handled more than 50 million TEUs cumulatively. “This strengthens its position as a main node in the national and international logistics flow. We continue to improve operational performance and sustainable transformation,” said JICT President Director Ade Hartono at the 27th anniversary thanksgiving event in Jakarta on Wednesday (1/4/2026). Ade explained the steps taken, including the conversion of operational equipment such as electric-based RTGs, digitalisation of services, and environmental management, including greening programmes. “This transformation is directed to increase efficiency while suppressing emissions without sacrificing productivity,” he said. On that occasion, JICT also launched new uniforms that represent the strengthening of standards and professionalism. The company also introduced a Satellite Clinic as part of fulfilling the Fit To Work aspect for workers. Managing Director of Hutchison Ports Southeast Asia, Stephen Ashworth, emphasised JICT’s strategic position in the global network. “JICT is an important part of our global network with competitive operational standards and efficiency in the region,” he said.
