Jey Denise Releases 'No. 1 Priority', an Anthem About the Importance of Self-Love

Indonesian singer-songwriter Jey Denise has officially released her latest single, titled ‘No. 1 Priority’. This song serves as an anthem that emphasizes the importance of placing oneself as the top priority amidst the dynamics of life.

‘No. 1 Priority’ is Jey’s second single, following her debut with the song ‘Lemme Out’ in July 2024.

For Jey, this latest work is a reflection of her musical journey as well as a personal victory that she hopes her listeners can also experience.

“I want this song to be a reminder that we deserve to put ourselves first,” Jey said in a written statement.

She added that consistency, self-belief, and the courage to overcome fear are the main foundations in her creative process.

Musically, Jey packages this song with the light and pleasant early 2000s groove. This musical characteristic was deliberately chosen so that the song can be a flexible companion for listeners in various situations, whether relaxing in the afternoon, walking with a partner, or gathering with friends.

In the production process, Jey showed deep involvement by taking full control over the musical arrangements.

The finishing touches on this work were entrusted to Thomas “J.Soul” Burrough, who handled the mixing and mastering process, resulting in a technically solid work that also conveys a strong message.

Jey Denise’s musical career has spanned more than ten years. Since 2017, she has been widely known as a vocal-guitar looping artist who often performs in various cafes and bars in Jakarta.

Her reputation as a musician who can present new standards in the world of looping in Indonesia has become increasingly established.

Currently, Jey’s career has expanded to the international stage. She is one of the first Indonesian female soloists to become a musician on a US-based cruise ship.
