Jetour, a Chinese electric vehicle brand, is set to introduce more new energy vehicle (NEV) options to the Indonesian market. Ke Chuandeng, President of Jetour International and Assistant President of Chery Automobile, stated that consumers are increasingly seeking high-tech vehicles that offer a superior driving experience, noting that NEVs provide benefits such as better acceleration performance and greater energy efficiency compared to conventional internal combustion engine cars. Jetour entered the Indonesian NEV segment with the launch of its first plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV), the Jetour T1 i-DM, in early June, followed by the debut of its second PHEV model, the T2 i-DM, at the GAIKINDO Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) last weekend. The company plans to bring its fully electric SUV, the Jetour TX, to the Indonesian market in the first quarter of 2027, a model first unveiled at the Beijing Auto Show in late April. In just two years of operating in the domestic automotive industry, Jetour’s market share has grown rapidly, with wholesale sales in the first half of the year soaring 457 percent year-on-year to 1,525 units, making it one of the fastest-growing brands. The company has also realised local production, with output volume increasing by 264 percent to 1,576 units.
