Jeranjang UBP Implements Clean Energy Day, Employees Use Eco-Friendly Transportation
PLN Indonesia Power’s Business Unit for Power Generation (UBP) Jeranjang has implemented the Clean Energy Day programme, encouraging employees to use eco-friendly transportation when commuting to work. This policy aims to reduce emissions while building energy-saving habits in the workplace environment.
The programme designates one day per week without the use of oil-fuelled vehicles. Employees are directed to use bicycles, electric vehicles, or shared public transport.
Manager of PLN Indonesia Power UBP Jeranjang, Yunisetya Ariwibawa, stated that this programme is part of internal efforts to support the energy transition.
“Through Clean Energy Day, we aim to instil a culture of energy conservation and the use of clean energy, starting from the workplace environment,” said Yunisetya in a press release on Tuesday (28/4/2026).
The implementation of the programme is evident from the increased use of bicycles and electric vehicles in the work area. Several employees also utilise shared transportation to reduce fuel consumption.
PLN Indonesia Power considers individual behavioural changes to be one of the important factors in supporting emission reduction agendas. This initiative is also expected to strengthen collective awareness regarding more efficient energy use.
The Clean Energy Day programme aligns with policies for developing new renewable energy and efforts to curb carbon emissions in the energy sector. The company believes that integrating sustainability principles needs to be applied not only to operations but also to employees’ daily activities.
Through this approach, the company encourages a more environmentally friendly work culture.
