Jepara Regency People's School Functional, Ready to Welcome 2026-2027 Academic Year

The Ministry of Public Works has confirmed that the People’s School in Jepara Regency, Central Java, is now functional. This educational facility is ready to be used for teaching and learning activities in the 2026-2027 New Academic Year. The school will welcome 345 new students, who are scheduled to participate in the School Environment Introduction Period on 20 August 2026. The construction of People’s Schools is a government initiative to expand educational access for children from underprivileged families, in line with directives from President Prabowo Subianto. Minister of Public Works Dody Hanggodo stressed the importance of this programme for low-income communities. ‘The People’s School is a key programme to alleviate poverty,’ he stated in a written release on Tuesday (4/8). The Jepara Regency People’s School is part of the Central Java Province People’s School Construction package 2, executed by the Central Java Strategic Infrastructure Implementation Task Force. The school is built on a 10-hectare plot of land with Adhi-Minarta KSO as the contractor, and the project has an allocated budget of approximately Rp2.4 billion. Supporting educational facilities at the Jepara People’s School include a multipurpose hall, primary, junior high, and senior high school buildings, a mosque and place of worship, a guest house, kitchen, teachers’ flats, male and female dormitories, a canteen, a ceremonial field, a running track, a football pitch, and a basketball court. ‘By educating these younger siblings from underprivileged families, we hope they can improve their families’ quality of life from underprivileged to prosperous, while also preparing the Golden Indonesia 2045 generation,’ Dody explained. Based on physical progress recapitulation, the Jepara People’s School is already functional for teaching and learning activities. The Ministry of Public Works is currently focusing on completing the finishing stages and inspecting architectural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing works. Landscaping is also a key focus to ensure all facilities can function optimally before the School Environment Introduction Period begins, so that the teaching and learning process can run smoothly from day one. The provision of proper and integrated educational infrastructure is a tangible contribution towards the Golden Indonesia 2045 target. This initiative is also aligned with the PU608 vision to support economic growth and reduce poverty, with a focus on improving the quality of human resources through the consistent provision of inclusive and sustainable basic infrastructure.
