Jenius Records Service Usage Across 188 Countries

Jenius debit and credit cards have been recorded as being used in 188 countries for online, offline, and cash withdrawal transactions. This data was released by Jenius by SMBC Indonesia as the digital banking service enters its tenth year since its launch in 2016.

In addition to card usage across various nations, Jenius has noted significant foreign currency transactions through its application. Users are able to save, exchange, send, and receive foreign currencies 24 hours a day.

The three most frequently used foreign currencies by Jenius users are the US Dollar, Singapore Dollar, and Japanese Yen. Jenius also recorded foreign currency transfers from Indonesia to Brasilia, Brazil, and South Carolina, USA, covering distances of more than 26,000 kilometres.

Irwan Tisnabudi, Head of Emerging Affluent at SMBC Indonesia, stated that over the 10 years since its launch, Jenius has developed more than 80 innovations based on user feedback. “We would like to thank our Jenius users for their support and trust over these ten years, allowing us to grow together,” said Irwan on Wednesday (16/09/2026).

The development of Jenius services covers transaction needs, savings, cash flow management, investment, and protection. One available service is ‘Pay & Save’ through Cash Cow, which allows users to perform transactions and save simultaneously.

In the use of this feature, one user was recorded performing simultaneous transactions and savings 210 times in a single month.

Jenius also operates the Yay Points reward programme. One user was noted to have accumulated Yay Points equivalent to 12 round-trip Business Class tickets from Jakarta to Tokyo when redeemed via KrisFlyer Miles.

In 2026, Jenius added ‘Yay Stickers’ through the Play & Yay! mission, along with three new foreign currency options: the Turkish Lira, Swiss Franc, and Saudi Riyal.

Jenius stated that service developments are carried out by considering user input through a co-creation process.
