This past weekend proved a golden moment for Jembrana Regency, as two of the district’s finest young talents achieved outstanding success at the national level in two distinct fields: martial arts and academic competition.

Talented pencak silat athlete Naila Dwi Safira, from Pengambengan Village, successfully raised Jembrana’s flag on the highest podium at the Jember Championship 3 Pencak Silat Tournament held at GOR PKPSO Kaliwates, East Java (14–15 February). The young athlete, known as Lala, claimed the gold medal after prevailing against stiff competition from approximately 800 athletes representing seven provinces across Indonesia. The achievement stands as testament to the physical and mental resilience of Jembrana’s young athletes on the national stage.

Academic distinction also came from Kadek Bhayu Qinandana, a student at SMA Negeri 1 Negara, who secured first place in the National Student Essay Competition at AKLAMASI (Scientific Creativity Forum for University Students) 2026. The event, organised by UKM PKIM at Universitas Pendidikan Ganesha (Undiksha), was open to participants from senior secondary schools nationwide. Kadek Bhayu demonstrated that the literacy and critical thinking skills of Jembrana’s students can compete and excel at the university level.

Jembrana Regent I Made Kembang Hartawan expressed his highest appreciation for the outstanding achievements of both students. He emphasised that the success was the fruit of hard work, dedication, and the full support of their parents.

“Congratulations to Naila Dwi Safira and Kadek Bhayu Qinandana. You have proven that Jembrana’s youth possess extraordinary competitiveness. For Lala, continue to hone your abilities on the silat mat. For Kadek Bhayu, let this be a spark of literary inspiration for other young people,” the Regent said on Sunday (15 February).

Regent Kembang added that the local government would continue to support creative spaces for students to compete. “Do not become complacent. Be an inspiration for other young people in Jembrana to dare to dream and dare to compete at the national and even international level,” he concluded.

The dual achievements in sport and academic writing reaffirm Jembrana Regency’s commitment to developing superior human resources who are physically healthy and intellectually capable.
