Jembrana Banjar Launches 'Smart Hub' for Document Processing and Tax Payment
Jembrana regency government praised the innovation by Banjar Warnasari Kelod in Warnasari Village, Melaya subdistrict, Jembrana, Bali. The ban hall, traditionally used solely for customary affairs, has transformed into a digital public service centre named Banjar Smart Hub (BSH).
Regent I Made Kembang Hartawan commended the innovative initiative by Banjar Warnasari Kelod’s ketiban and community leaders. ‘I firmly believe Banjar Smart Hub is not merely an innovation; it symbolises courage to change and community creativity, proving progress can emerge from the banjar,’ Hartawan said at the BSH launch at Banjar Warnasari Kel hall on Friday, 20 May 2026.
Hartaw hopes the initiative will serve as a model for all banjar and neighbourhoods in Jembrana. He added that it is a concrete step in waste management. ‘today, we witness change starting from the grassroots level, by the community, for the community,’ he said.
Banjar Warnasari Kelod chief I Kadek Sri Rama Usmantara explained the app’s development was driven by residents’ administrative challenges. ‘Previously, accessing services required long trips to the city, causing distance, cost, and time issues,’ he said. ‘This initiative reduces bureaucratic hurdles while tackling environmental issues, particularly waste’
Residents who sort and collect waste at the banjar receive economic benefits, including gold savings, pension schemes, electricity and water bill payments, Samsat, and access to social security. Those failing to separate organic and non-organic waste face disincentives or residual fees. ‘Through Banjar Smart Hub, communities can now better protect the environment while deriving economic value from properly managed waste,’ Usmantara said.
