Jember Resident Praises Ease of BPJS Health Treatment Control
Afifatul Munawwaroh, a resident of Silo District in Jember Regency, has expressed gratitude for the ease of service she experienced under the National Health Insurance Programme (JKN). The 33-year-old underwent treatment easily, quickly and without worrying about costs.
Afifatul recounted that the referral process from a First-Level Health Facility (FKTP) to hospital went smoothly. After being examined by a doctor, she received a referral letter on the same day.
Clinic staff also explained the referral procedure clearly, which put Afifatul at ease during the administrative process and follow-up examinations.
“For about two to three weeks I underwent laboratory tests before the operation was scheduled. Every stage of the treatment was explained clearly and in detail, so I felt calmer and encountered no obstacles during my care,” said Afifatul on Monday, 29 June 2026.
Afifatul admitted that she initially did not understand the JKN service flow and assumed treatment had to take place at a hospital. However, after being examined at an FKTP and referred according to medical need, she found the service process easy, quick and free of complications.
“At first I thought I had to go straight to the hospital for treatment. But after coming to the clinic, I received good care. When a referral was genuinely needed, the process was fast and clear. I felt more at ease because I understood the service flow,” she said.
Afifatul also felt reassured because the entire treatment process and follow-up consultations at the hospital could be undertaken at no cost, in accordance with JKN programme rules. She attended regular check-ups according to the doctor’s schedule, from one week, two weeks, up to one month after the procedure.
According to her, all the services ran smoothly. “Besides not having to think about costs, I also greatly appreciate the friendliness of the doctors and nurses during my treatment. I did not feel any difference in treatment compared with other patients. All patients received equally good care,” said Afifatul.
Afifatul has now recovered. She is able to return to her activities and care for her family. After experiencing the ease of service during her treatment, she expressed her thanks to BPJS Kesehatan as the administrator of the JKN programme.
Afifatul viewed her experience as proof that JKN membership provides a sense of security when participants need healthcare services. She hopes the JKN programme will continue and bring increasing benefits to the public.
“I hope the friendly and prompt service will be maintained. I have directly experienced the benefits myself, so I hope more people will obtain health protection through this programme,” she said.
