Jember Regent Appreciates Thousands of Students in 2026 Collaborative Community Service Programme
Jember Regent Muhammad Fawait has expressed high appreciation for thousands of students participating in the 5th Collaborative Community Service Programme (KKN) of 2026. According to him, the students’ contribution in the field proceeded very smoothly without triggering unrest or complaints from local residents.
The statement was delivered by Gus Fawait while attending the National Insight Study (Ngaji Kebangsaan) event in commemoration of the 81st Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia, as well as the Withdrawal of the Collaborative KKN at Jember Square on Monday afternoon (24/8).
In a written statement from the Jember Regency Government, Gus Fawait emphasised his pride in the participants’ work ethic, which was deemed successful in upholding the good name of their respective universities.
“As a former campus activist during my undergraduate studies, I highlight the technical achievements of the students. One crucial task, namely the data collection of Desil 2, was successfully completed up to 85 percent with a polite, calm approach, and without provocative noise on social media,” said Fawait.
Fawait assessed that real work at the grassroots level is a concrete step towards poverty alleviation in Jember Regency as well as at the national level.
As the highest form of respect for this service, the Regent of Jember, together with local government officials present on stage, specifically bowed towards the students and supervising lecturers.
This act of bowing heads was carried out simultaneously as a closing to the speech to convey deep gratitude for the synergy of the academic community.
Not only conveying formal appreciation, Fawait also inserted a humorous message typical of young people. He prayed that students who found partners during the KKN period would remain committed until they graduate.
“But remember, you must complete your undergraduate education as proof of seriousness before moving to a further stage,” he said.
