The Jember Regency Government continues to introduce innovations in public services to bring access closer to communities, including those in remote areas. Under the leadership of Regent Gus Fawait, the Jember Regency Government has officially launched Mini Public Service Malls (MPP Mini) in several districts, including Tanggul District. This initiative positions Jember as the first regency in the Tapal Kuda region to have the most MPP Minis, specifically in Mayang District, Tanggul District, and Jombang District. The presence of MPP Minis represents a tangible commitment by the local government to achieve equitable services and justice for all Jember residents. Regent Gus Fawait emphasised that the programme aims to cut bureaucratic chains that have previously hindered the public, especially residents in western and northern Jember. With MPP Minis, people no longer need to travel long distances to the city centre just to handle administrative matters. “At these MPP Minis, the public can access various integrated services, including population administration such as ID card processing, family cards, and birth certificates,” said Gus Fawait on Wednesday, 6 May 2026. In addition to population administration services, MPP Minis also provide business licensing for MSME actors, local tax services to facilitate payments and reporting, and social and legal services in the form of consultations and legal assistance for the public. One innovation drawing attention is the strategic collaboration between the Jember Regency Government and the Jember District Court. Through this partnership, the public can now resolve legal matters related to population data via virtual hearings using Zoom services. “We want to provide a sense of justice. Previously, residents of Tanggul or Sumberbaru had to spend hours travelling to the city. Now, we bring the Mini Regency Government here. Even for court matters, it’s enough via Zoom, no more back-and-forth,” he asserted. Not only focused on improving public services, the Jember Regency Government is also preparing to strengthen supporting infrastructure for inter-regional connectivity. In the 2026–2027 fiscal year, the local government plans to widen and resurface the route from Tanggul to Mangli to smooth mobility and regional economic distribution.
