Jejak Nada to Feature Collaborations With Andi Rianto, Tulus and Krisdayanti in a Cross-Generational Concert
Jejak Nada - A Magical Journey Through the Ages will present cross-generational musical collaborations through orchestral arrangements and nostalgia crafted directly by Andi Rianto. The performance brings together a number of musicians from Indonesia and Malaysia on one stage to deliver a musical experience that connects different eras.
Via Marriott Bonvoy’s latest entertainment programme titled ‘The Circle’, a line-up of performers including Tulus, Krisdayanti, Nadhif Basalamah, Anggi Marito, and Didiie Shazry will appear. The organisers are keeping one special performance under wraps for now.
Regional Vice President Marriott International Indonesia & Malaysia, Ramesh Jackson, said the concept was created because experiences are what people now seek when they travel or enjoy entertainment. ‘When people travel, the number-one factor they look for is experience. Not just the destination or the hotel brand,’ Jackson said at the event launch.
He noted that music resonates strongly with Indonesians. He also said Indonesia would be the first country to host the ‘The Circle’ concept before it expands to Malaysia. ‘Indonesians love music. So we feel this is a good time to offer a more personal and emotional experience through musical performances,’ he added.
Andi Rianto said the concept of ‘Jejak Nada - A Magical Journey Through the Ages’ will allow audiences to enjoy a musical journey from various eras through new arrangements prepared specifically for the concert. ‘Music is about experience. When you hear a particular song, you can immediately be reminded of the past or a special moment in life,’ Rianto said. He also admitted to continuing workshops with collaborators to explore different musical explorations beyond the original versions of the songs performed. ‘The most exciting part is the workshops and arrangement explorations. Many new ideas emerge from the collaborators,’ he said.
Krisdayanti said her collaborations with Andi Rianto always bring a different musical experience. She even recalled their early collaboration when Andi Rianto served as pianist on one of her love songs more than two decades ago. ‘Each performance with Mas Andi has always been a musical journey,’ she said.
The concert is planned to run about two hours with more than 20 numbers, including medleys and cross-musician collaborations. In addition to live performances, the event will feature sing-along moments and some surprises to be announced closer to show day.
Composer Andi Rianto revealed the relationship between music and life memories, recalling his performance at the United Nations headquarters at age 15 and his views on creating. ‘Symphony from the Heart’ is a compilation album featuring collaborations between Andi Rianto and various Indonesian musicians. A song co-created by Andi Rianto and Monty Tiwa flows with elegant arrangements and lyrics that reinforce the themes.
Songs by Mike Mohede on the album ‘Unreleased’ were recorded but not released while he was with us. After around 24 years, Andi Rianto collaborates with Anggi Marito to revisit the pop-ballad mood with ‘Selama Ku Bernafas’.
