JEBC to hold billiard tourney for media

JAKARTA (JP): The Jakarta Executive Billiard Club (JEBC) will hold a three-day billiard tournament for reporters living in the Jakarta area, the organizer said on Friday.

Martin Hutabarat said that the tournament would be held in cooperation with the textile company Texmaco and would commemorate Indonesia's 54th anniversary of independence.

"We expect many reporters to take part in the tournament. The reporters will be divided into eight groups and they have to compete from the preliminary round to the finals," Martin said.

The tournament will be played at Paradis Billiard, Sunter Metro Plaza Building, on the fourth floor of Jl. Danau Sunter Utara Blok A, North Jakarta. The preliminary round up to the quarterfinals will be on Aug. 14 and Aug. 15, while the semifinal and final will be on Aug. 22.

There is no registration fee and reporters may submit their names to the daily newspaper, Suara Bangsa, on Jl. Meruya Ilir No. 2, West Jakarta or at Paradis Billiard.

JEBC will offer Rp 10 million for the winner, Rp 7.5 million for second place and Rp 5 million for third place. Five runner- ups will receive Rp 2.5 million each. (lnt)
