Jealous husband stabs wife

TANGERANG: Tangerang Police arrested a man on Tuesday for the brutal stabbing of his own wife at her workplace at the D'Best shopping center on Jl. MH Thamrin in Tangerang municipality.

The suspect, Sulaiman, 27, a resident of Pondok Kacang, Pondok Aren district in Tangerang regency, stabbed his estranged wife Komariah, 28, eight times in her stomach and chest.

The victim was then rushed to the Honoris Hospital. She was in critical condition because of the wounds.

Sulaiman, who was fired from his job, also at the D'Best shopping center last October, told police investigators that he was angry that his wife did not die from the vicious attack.

He claimed that Komariah had been having an affair with her colleague after Sulaiman got fired.

"Komariah could not accept it when I had an affair recently, so she moved out, we have been separated since then," he said.

Komariah lives in her house in Cipondoh district, Tangerang city.

The suspect apparently began planning the attack at her workplace after Komariah asked him for a divorce.

"The suspect arrived at the shopping center at about 3:30 p.m. and attacked the woman with a knife he had already prepared," said Tangerang police detective deputy chief Insp. Kustanto. -- JP
