JD Vance may lead the US again in second round of negotiations with Iran
Washington (ANTARA) - US Vice President JD Vance is likely to lead the American delegation again in the second round of negotiations with Iran if it takes place, according to a CNN media report. On Tuesday, US President Donald Trump stated that the next round of negotiations between Washington and Tehran could take place in the next two days in Pakistan. On 28 February, the US and Israel launched attacks on several targets in Iran, including in Tehran, causing damage and civilian casualties. Iran then retaliated by attacking Israeli territory and US military facilities in the Middle East as self-defence. On Saturday (11/4), Iran and the United States began talks in Islamabad after Trump announced that he had reached an agreement with Tehran regarding a two-week ceasefire. However, on Sunday morning (12/4), Vice President Vance stated that Iran and the US failed to reach an agreement in those negotiations and the US delegation returned without results. Following the failure of the dialogue, Trump stated that the US would begin blockading the Strait of Hormuz and requested the US Navy to pursue and intercept ships that pay to pass through the strait. Trump confirmed that the blockade would take effect on Monday (13/4) at 14:00 GMT (21:00 WIB). Source: Sputnik
