Hamilton (ANTARA) – US Vice-President JD Vance has indicated that he may differ with President Donald Trump over the war in Iran, in an interview broadcast on Friday (16 October).

“Even if you disagree with him on that one thing, you can still have differences of opinion. And I think I have disagreed on that,” Vance said on a political talk show hosted by former White House spokesperson Sean Spicer.

Vance also answered questions about his relationship with political commentator and former Trump ally Tucker Carlson.

Carlson has publicly criticised the war in Iran, arguing that the conflict serves Israel’s interests more than those of the United States and contradicts Trump’s promise to avoid costly military interventions abroad.

Vance said Carlson, who is known for his conservative views, was very angry about the war.

“He and I have discussed it both privately and publicly. I know how he feels and I understand him,” Vance said.

“What I said to Tucker was: don’t throw away all the good things just because there is something bad,” Vance said.

“Isn’t closing the border and ending the nonsensical racial discrimination against white people in university admissions something worth acknowledging? Don’t we need to acknowledge that Donald Trump has done many good things?” Vance added.
