JCI Weakens by 0.99% in a Week, Market Capitalisation Also Plummets
Trading data on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) for the period 30 March to 2 April 2026 closed with varied results, as the Composite Stock Price Index (JCI) weakened over the week. On Thursday (2 April), the stock index closed at 7,026.782, down 0.99% from 7,097.057 the previous week. This change was accompanied by a 1.69% contraction in the IDX’s market capitalisation. “The IDX market capitalisation stood at Rp12,305 trillion, down from Rp12,516 trillion the previous week,” stated Kautsar Primadi Nurahmad, Secretary of PT Indonesia Stock Exchange, in an official statement on Friday (3 April). The exchange noted an increase in the average daily transaction frequency by 3.08% to 1.78 million transactions from 1.73 million the previous week. The average daily transaction volume on the IDX for the week also changed, rising by 8.62% to 25.87 billion shares from 23.81 billion shares the previous week. Additionally, the average daily transaction value also shifted, increasing by 36.69% to Rp14.77 trillion from Rp10.81 trillion the previous week. Foreign investors recorded net sales of Rp813.51 billion on that day, and for the year 2026 so far, foreign investors have posted net sales of Rp33.83 trillion.
