The latest developments in the Middle East conflict, Israel has stated it will negotiate with Lebanon, thereby removing the main point of contention in the ceasefire between the United States (US) and Iran, which was previously unstable due to Israel’s attacks on Lebanon.
However, US President Donald Trump stated that US troops will remain in the Gulf region until a real agreement is reached and complied with.
In addition to developments in the Middle East, market participants are also monitoring disruptions from Artificial Intelligence (AI) and US PCE Index data, which rose 0.4% month-to-month (mtm) or 3% year-on-year (yoy) in February 2026, in line with consensus expectations.
US PCE inflation data remains above the Fed’s 2% target, but this data does not yet include the impact of rising oil prices starting in March 2026. The data indicates that US inflation was already relatively high before the conflict occurred.
Next, market participants will await the US CPI inflation for March 2026, which will be released on Friday (10/4).
Domestically, the World Bank has lowered its projection for Indonesia’s economic growth to 4.7% in 2026, from the previous projection of 4.8%, and lower than the government’s target in the 2026 State Budget of 5.4%.
The trimming of the growth projection is due to Indonesia’s economy being projected to be affected by the escalation of the Middle East conflict, which increases global energy prices.
This downward projection aligns with the trend of regional economic slowdown in East Asia and the Pacific excluding China, projected to reach 4.1% from the previous projection of 4.4%.
