Jakarta – The Jakarta Composite Index (IHSG) closed up 247 points, or 4.12 percent, at 6,254 on Monday, June 15, 2026. According to RTI Business data, the IHSG opened at 6,118 and remained in positive territory throughout the trading day, briefly touching a peak of 6,345 near the end of the first session. Trading volume reached 54.61 billion shares, with 3,258,746 transactions and a total transaction value of Rp 30.14 trillion. A total of 603 stocks advanced, 125 declined, and 90 remained unchanged. Market capitalisation was recorded at Rp 10,927 trillion. Research Analyst at Infovesta Kapital Advisori, Arjun Ajnawi, stated that the IHSG’s strengthening was triggered by improved investor risk sentiment, following a peace agreement between the United States and Iran. He explained that all global stock exchanges experienced significant gains as investors responded positively to the news. ‘Risk sentiment improved because there is positive news from the global geopolitical landscape,’ Arjun said. He added that the announcement of a ceasefire and the opening of the Strait of Hormuz provided a positive global sentiment, causing all Asian markets to rally. Arjun noted that investors began allocating their funds to risk assets such as the stock market, including in emerging markets like Indonesia. ‘The reason the market rose is because of this (US-Iran deal), so clearly investors are entering stocks because stocks are up today,’ he said.
