Jakarta, VIVA - The Composite Stock Price Index (JCI) rebounded to close higher on Thursday, 9 April 2026. The JCI rose 0.39 per cent or 26.38 points to the level of 7,307.59.

Based on monitoring by VIVA via Stockbit, the JCI began showing recovery in the second session after dipping to the 7,197 area. Daily transaction value was recorded at Rp16.98 trillion, with a trading volume of 290.42 million shares and 2.24 million transactions conducted by investors.

The energy sector recorded the highest increase of 1.17 per cent. The cyclical consumer sector jumped 0.86 per cent, and the transportation sector rose 0.41 per cent.

In contrast, the industrial sector fell 1.73 per cent. Significant declines were also seen in the financial sector at 0.80 per cent and the health sector at 0.67 per cent.

The Phintraco Sekuritas analysis team revealed that negative sentiment was triggered by concerns over the fragile US-Iran ceasefire, following Israel’s continued attacks on Lebanon. Pressure also came from the World Bank, which lowered its projection for Indonesia’s economic growth to 4.7 per cent this year from the previous 4.8 per cent.

Cyclical sector stocks recorded the largest increase of 1.99 per cent. Significant surges were also noted in the energy sector at 1.82 per cent and the infrastructure sector at 0.58 per cent.

Meanwhile, the financial sector experienced the deepest correction of 1.23 per cent. Substantial corrections also hit the industrial sector at 0.69 per cent and the non-cyclical sector at 0.58 per cent.

“Technically, the JCI is still holding above the MA20, and the positive MACD histogram formation continues. Thus, the JCI is expected to trend stronger, testing the 7,350 level,” stated the Phintraco Sekuritas analysis team in their daily research on Thursday, 9 April 2026.

Furthermore, Phintraco Sekuritas analysts reported that issuers recorded the highest jumps among blue-chip stocks (LQ45). Here are the three top gainers at the close of trading today.
