Massive selling by foreign investors has pressured the Composite Stock Price Index (JCI), causing it to plunge over the past week. This pressure coincides with heavy outflows of foreign funds (net foreign sell) from the domestic stock market.

The JCI fell 6.61% throughout the week and closed at 7,129.490 on Friday’s trading (24/4). Over the same period, foreign investors recorded a net foreign sell of Rp 2 trillion, extending the net selling trend throughout 2026.

“Foreign investors recorded a net sell value of Rp 2.002 trillion, and for the year 2026 so far, foreign investors have recorded a net sell value of Rp 42.809 trillion,” said P. H Company Secretary Aulia Noviana Utami Putri in her statement, quoted from detikFinance on Saturday (25/4/2026).

Amid the JCI pressure, the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) recorded an average daily transaction volume increase of 4.44% to 44.88 billion shares. The average daily transaction frequency also rose 1.09% to 2.75 million times.

However, the average daily transaction value fell 3.67% to Rp 19.61 trillion from Rp 20.36 trillion in the previous week. The BEI’s market capitalisation also shrank 6.59% to Rp 12.736 trillion from Rp 13.635 trillion.
