The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) opened in the red at the end of the trading week, Friday (19/6/2026). Despite the weak opening, a number of analysts predict the index has a significant opportunity to reverse direction or rebound throughout the day. Based on trading data at 09.00 WIB, the JCI corrected by 10 points or 0.18 per cent to the level of 6,161. This weakening occurred amid mostly strengthening Asia-Pacific bourses, which tracked positive sentiment from Wall Street. Head of Retail Research at BNI Sekuritas, Fanny Suherman, projected the JCI would move sideways with a tendency to strengthen. ‘We estimate the JCI today will be sideways with a tendency to strengthen,’ said Fanny in her research on Friday (19/6). Similarly, an analyst from CGS International Sekuritas Indonesia stated that the index strengthening on Wall Street is a positive catalyst for the domestic market. However, she noted that the strengthening might be limited due to several risk factors. Investors were also observed to be cautious (wait and see) ahead of the implementation of the index rebalancing, which will take effect after the market closes today. An analyst from Phintraco Sekuritas assessed that this triggered a conservative attitude in the market. Technically, Phintraco noted the Stochastic RSI indicator is in the overbought area, but the MACD still shows a positive histogram. The JCI is currently still able to hold above the MA5, MA10, and MA20 moving average levels. ‘The JCI is expected to consolidate in the range of 6,100-6,250,’ wrote the Phintraco Sekuritas analyst. For a wider movement range, CGS International predicted the support level at 6,070/5,970, while the resistance level is in the range of 6,275/6,375.
