Jakarta – The JCI opened stronger by 21 points or 0.31% at the level of 7,128 during Tuesday’s trading session, 28 April 2026.

Head of Retail Research at BNI Sekuritas, Fanny Suherman, predicts that the JCI has the potential to correct during today’s trading.

“The JCI has the potential to correct again today after failing to break above 7,250,” said Fanny in her daily research on Tuesday, 28 April 2026.

She stated that Asian markets varied in Monday’s trading. Japan’s Nikkei 225 rose 1.38%, China’s CSI 300 rose moderately by 0.03%, Hong Kong’s Hang Seng fell 0.20%, and Taiwan’s Taiex surged 1.76%.

Meanwhile, South Korea’s Kospi increased by 2.15%, Australia’s ASX 200 weakened by 0.23%. Meanwhile, the Straits Times fell 0.61% and Malaysia’s FTSE rose 0.18%.

The movement in Asian markets, with the majority of indices strengthening, occurred after Axios reported that Iran offered a new proposal to the US regarding the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz.

In addition, Iran, through its mediator Pakistan, submitted a new proposal to the US to reach an agreement on reopening the Strait of Hormuz. Meanwhile, nuclear negotiations will be postponed to the next stage.

“JCI support is at the level of 6,900-7,000 while JCI resistance is in the range of 7,200-7,250,” she said.

For information, Wall Street stock indices mostly rose to all-time highs on Monday. Although, the strengthening was limited by uncertainty in peace negotiations between the US and Iran, as well as escalating tensions in the Strait of Hormuz which drove up oil prices.

The S&P 500 rose slightly by 0.12%, the Nasdaq Composite strengthened by 0.20%, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average weakened by 0.13%. The strengthening of the stock market occurred amid investors’ tendency to temporarily ignore the impasse in peace talks between the US and Iran.
