JCI Morning Session Dips Slightly Pressured by Israeli Attacks, Check 3 Top Gainers in LQ45 Ranks
Jakarta, VIVA - The Composite Stock Price Index (JCI) corrected slightly after recording a gain of more than 4 percent at yesterday’s close. The JCI weakened by 0.15 percent or 11.17 points to the level of 7,268.03 in the first trading session on Thursday, 9 April 2026.
The industrial sector declined the most at 1.73 percent. The financial and health sectors corrected relatively significantly, at 0.80 percent and 0.67 percent respectively.
In contrast, the energy sector recorded the highest surge of 1.17 percent. The cyclical consumer sector also strengthened by 0.98 percent, followed by the transportation sector which rose 0.41 percent.
The JCI was observed moving in the range of 7,191 to reaching the intraday high of 7,290. On a daily basis, the transaction value was recorded at Rp 8.81 trillion, the transaction volume at 15.17 million shares, while the total number of trades was 1.29 million transactions.
Analysts from Phintraco Sekuritas stated that the JCI correction occurred in line with the continuation of Israel’s attacks on the Hezbollah group. Other negative sentiment was triggered by uncertainty in the Strait of Hormuz, which, although reported to be fully opened, in reality showed the opposite, increasing market concerns about global energy supplies.
“Overall, the market remains relatively weak with high volatility, in line with technical indicators showing weakening momentum through the narrowing MACD histogram and the declining stochastic RSI,” Phintraco Sekuritas analysts said in their daily research on Thursday, 9 April 2026.
Phintraco Sekuritas analysts also reported that several issuers managed to record the highest price jumps in the ranks of blue-chip stocks (LQ45), including:
PT Dian Swastatika Sentosa Tbk (DSSA)
DSSA shares strengthened 15.30 percent or 410 points to 3,090.
PT Barito Renewables Energy Tbk (BREN)
