JCI Jumps 1.09% Towards 6,700 Level Driven by Strong Stock Performance
The Indonesia Composite Index (IHSG) surged during trading on Thursday (3/9/2026), following a slight decline the previous day.
Based on IDX Mobile data at 16:00 WIB, the IHSG ended stronger by 72.11 points or 1.09% to the level of 6,667.89, from the previous close of 6,595.78.
Transaction value today tended to be active, recorded at approximately Rp 18.64 trillion, with trading volume reaching 40.79 billion shares and a frequency of 2.5 million times.
Almost all sectors strengthened, with the highest increases recorded in the property, primary consumer, and basic materials sectors. Meanwhile, only the non-primary consumer and healthcare sectors weakened today.
Specifically, large-cap issuers were recorded as the main pillars of the IHSG’s performance today. These included Bank Central Asia (BBCA), Astra International (ASII), Bank Mandiri (BMRI), Amman Mineral Internasional (AMMN), CPIN, and Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BBRI).
The IHSG had the opportunity to attempt a recovery in Thursday’s trading after correcting in the previous session. Market participants will closely monitor several global and domestic sentiments.
Globally, the escalation of the US-Iran conflict has once again increased the risk of energy supply disruptions, rising oil prices, and inflation. Pressure also comes from high global bond yields, with the US 10-year Treasury yield briefly reaching 4.818%.
Pressure is also visible in global bond markets. The 10-year Japanese government bond yield broke through 3% for the first time in 30 years, while German and UK yields reached their highest levels since 2011 and 2008, respectively.
The market is also closely watching the direction of the Fed’s policy after US labour data showed that private companies added only 38,000 jobs in August, below the expectation of 47,000.
Domestically, positive sentiment could come from Bank Indonesia Governor Destry Damayanti, who emphasised that economic stability remains Bank Indonesia’s priority for the 2026-2031 period, amidst high global uncertainty.
Furthermore, the domestic market will monitor developments in government policy, including the energy and banking sectors. The increase in Pertamina’s aviation fuel prices starting in September and the revocation of a Sharia Rural Bank’s business permit by the OJK are among the domestic developments attracting market participants’ attention.
