The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) rose sharply following a correction at the start of the week. The JCI strengthened by 3.39% or 236.13 points, breaking through the 7,207.16 level during the first trading session on Wednesday, 8 April 2026.

The JCI immediately jumped to 7,162 at market open, then gradually reached an intraday high of 7,210. Trading value was recorded at Rp12.99 trillion, daily trading volume reached 266.59 million shares, and the number of transactions by investors totalled 1.44 million.

“This strengthening occurred alongside positive catalysts, namely the agreement on a ceasefire between the United States (US) and Iran in the next two weeks,” stated the Phintraco Sekuritas Analysis Team in its daily research on Wednesday, 8 April 2026.

All stock sectors shone, led by a 7.18% rise in the basic materials sector. The industrial sector rose 4.36%, the cyclical consumer sector strengthened 3.78%, and the infrastructure sector jumped 3.45%.

The energy sector increased 3.24%, the property sector rose 2.73%, the financial sector gained 2.43%, the technology sector rose 2.14%, the energy sector soared 2.05%, the non-cyclical consumer sector increased 1.67%, and the health sector rose 1.01%.

From a technical perspective, Phintraco Sekuritas analysts assessed that the JCI still shows positive signals following the breakout of the psychological resistance at the 7,100 level. Support from the MACD indicator, which is starting to form a positive histogram, and the stochastic RSI moving upwards.

“The collaboration of recent fundamentals with the occurring technicals leads us to predict that the JCI has the potential to move stably with a tendency to strengthen in the 7,200 area in the next trading session,” according to the projection from the Phintraco Sekuritas Analysis Team.

Furthermore, Phintraco Sekuritas also reported several issuers with the highest price jumps among the leading stocks (LQ45). Here are the three top gainers in the LQ45.

BRPT shares recorded a double-digit increase of 17.12% or 250 points to 1,710.
