JCI First Session Drops 20 Points After Breaching 7,000 Level, Two Prajogo Emitters Enter Top Gainers
The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) reversed to weaken after achieving a significant rise midway through trading today. The JCI fell 0.29 per cent or 20.29 points to 6,969.16 points at the end of the first session on Tuesday, 7 April 2026.
Based on monitoring by VIVA via Stockbit, the JCI strengthened at the start before plunging to touch the 6,946 area. The index then gradually recovered (rebounded) to reach 7,018 as the intraday high.
Daily transaction value was recorded at Rp 7.23 trillion with a transaction volume of 174.23 million shares. Meanwhile, the total trades executed by investors numbered 1.12 million.
The industrial sector declined most sharply by 2.12 per cent, followed by the non-cyclical consumer sector dropping 1.04 per cent. Corrections were also noted in the health sector by 0.76 per cent, cyclical consumer sector eroding 0.70 per cent, transportation sector losing 0.61 per cent, technology sector falling 0.54 per cent, basic materials sector down 0.49 per cent, and property sector down 0.44 per cent.
In contrast, the energy sector led the highest surge at 0.72 per cent. Gains were also recorded in the infrastructure and financial sectors, at 0.38 per cent and 0.32 per cent respectively.
Analysts at Phintraco Sekuritas assess that technically, the positive histogram formation on the MACD is continuously shrinking. Meanwhile, the Stochastic RSI indicator is approaching the overbought area and forming a Death Cross.
“We estimate the JCI has the potential to move within the 6,925-7,000 range in the second session trading,” stated the Phintraco Sekuritas Analysis Team, quoted from their daily research on Tuesday, 7 April 2026.

Dian Swastatika Sentosa Tbk (DSSA)
DSSA shares surged 3.80 per cent or 2,452 points to soar to 66,225.
Barito Pacific Tbk (BRPT)
BRPT shares rocketed 3.72 per cent or 50 points to 1,395.
PT Barito Renewables Energy Tbk (BREN)
BREN shares also rose 3.67 per cent or 160 points to 4,520.
