JCI Falls 89 Points in Morning Session as Trump's Speech Shakes Markets
The Composite Stock Price Index (JCI) plummeted after recording a sharp rise. The JCI weakened by 1.25% or 89.91 points to 7,094.53 at the end of the first trading session on Thursday, 2 April 2026.
The JCI immediately dropped to 7,153 at the start of trading today. The index even fell to touch the 7,083 area.
The transaction value was recorded at Rp 6.90 trillion, while the daily trading volume reached 144.9 million shares. The number of trades executed by investors totalled 1.04 million transactions.
“This weakening is in line with geopolitical developments between the United States (US) and Iran, which are expected to heat up further following Trump’s latest speech, in which he will launch a larger attack on Iran in the next 2-3 weeks,” stated the Phintraco Sekuritas Analysis Team in its daily research on Thursday, 2 April 2026.
From a technical perspective, Phintraco Sekuritas analysts observed that the JCI broke below the psychological support of 7,100. This was accompanied by the MACD indicator showing a narrowing of the positive histogram.
“Considering the combination of fundamental sentiment and such technical confirmation, we forecast that the JCI will move within the range of 7,050-7,125 in the second trading session today,” revealed the Phintraco Sekuritas Analysis Team.
