JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The Jakarta Composite Index (IHSG) closed weaker by 1.85 percent, or down 124 points, to the 6,599 level in trading on Monday, 18 May 2026. The decline occurred amid substantial selling pressure from foreign investors. According to data from the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI), foreign investors recorded net selling of Rp 460 billion. The selling pressure was concentrated on commodity-based stocks and conglomerates. PT Aneka Tambang Tbk (ANTM) was the stock with the largest foreign selling, amounting to Rp 315 billion. Next, PT Barito Renewables Energy Tbk (BREN) recorded net selling of Rp 153 billion, PT Amman Mineral International Tbk (AMMN) Rp 149 billion, PT Alam Tri Resources Indonesia Tbk (ADRO) Rp 77 billion, and PT Dian Swastatika Sentosa Tbk (DSSA) Rp 68 billion. The value of AMMN transactions reached Rp 325.06 billion with a trading volume of around 1.01 million lots. Next, BREN closed down slightly by 0.31 percent or 10 points to Rp 3,190. The value of ADRO transactions reached Rp 250.09 billion with a trading volume of 1.02 million lots. Amid market pressure, foreign investors continued to accumulate in several large-cap banks and telecommunications stocks. PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BBCA) recorded the largest net buy at Rp 107 billion, followed by PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk (BMRI) Rp 85 billion.
