JCI Drops Again to 6,092 Level; DSSA and BUMI Attract Heavy Trading Amid Market Pressure
The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) ended trading in the red again on Tuesday, 23 June 2026. Although it managed to trim losses towards the end of the session, the index still closed down 0.39 percent at 6,092.857.
Throughout the day, the JCI’s movement reflected persistent selling pressure dominating the market. The index fluctuated between 6,000 and 6,100, briefly touching a low near the psychological 6,000 level before gradually recovering ahead of the close.
The JCI’s decline occurred amid sustained high trading activity. Investors remained active in transacting a number of leading stocks, particularly in the banking, energy, and petrochemical sectors.
Trading data showed the pressure was not confined to the JCI. Several other main indices on the Indonesia Stock Exchange also moved lower. The IDX30 index fell 0.02 percent to 338.672, while the IDXLQ45LCL index corrected 0.16 percent to 87.187. However, some indices managed to stay in positive territory. The LQ45 index edged up 0.03 percent to 599.401, and the IDX80 strengthened 0.22 percent to 90.274. This movement suggests investors were still accumulating select large-cap stocks despite the generally negative market sentiment.
Trading activity on the Indonesia Stock Exchange remained busy throughout the session. Total share transaction value reached IDR 13.47 trillion, with trading volume hitting 20.95 billion shares. Transaction frequency was recorded at 1.70 million trades. Exchange Traded Fund (ETF) instruments recorded a transaction value of IDR 88.48 billion on volume of 283 million units. DIRE instruments posted a transaction value of IDR 2.2 billion on volume of 39,500 units. Structured Warrants booked a transaction value of IDR 11.04 billion, with volume reaching 1.47 billion units and a transaction frequency of 24,573 trades.
Amid the JCI’s weakness, shares of PT Dian Swastatika Sentosa Tbk (DSSA) once again became the stock with the largest transaction value on the regular market. DSSA recorded a transaction value of IDR 1.84 trillion on volume of 2.22 billion shares. DSSA’s share price stood at IDR 830 per share. The large transaction value of DSSA made the Sinar Mas Group-owned stock the centre of market participants’ attention throughout the day’s trading.
