JCI Drops 12 Points in First Session; Three Blue-Chip Stocks Lead Top Gainers

Jakarta — The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) remained mired in the red on Friday 20 February 2026, weakening 0.16 per cent or 12.92 points to close the first trading session at 8,261.

During the session, the index briefly rallied to a high of 8,328 before sliding to a low of 8,236.

Transaction value reached Rp 11.18 trillion with trading volume of Rp 23.78 billion, accumulated across 1.61 million transactions by market participants.

The property sector recorded the steepest decline at 1.18 per cent, followed by significant corrections in the non-cyclical consumer sector at 1.01 per cent and the energy sector at 0.97 per cent.

Bucking the downward trend, the transportation sector shone with a gain of 1.08 per cent, whilst the industrial sector rose 0.61 per cent and the technology sector advanced 0.53 per cent.

From a technical standpoint, the Phintraco Sekuritas analyst team noted that the stochastic RSI is positioned in overbought territory, whilst the MACD indicator shows a widening positive slope.

“Given these conditions, the JCI is expected to trade within the range of 8,260–8,300 during the second session today,” the Phintraco Sekuritas analyst team projected in their daily research note on Friday 20 February 2026.

Phintraco Sekuritas reported several issuers recording the highest price jumps during the first trading session. The following are the three top gainers among the 45 blue-chip stocks (LQ45):

PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SMGR) SMGR shares surged 6.64 per cent or 190 points to 3,050.

PT XLSMART Telecom Sejahtera Tbk (EXCL) EXCL shares jumped 5.24 per cent or 150 points to 3,010.

PT Sumber Alfaria Trijaya Tbk (AMRT) AMRT shares rose 1.84 per cent or 35 points to 1,935.
