JCI Closes Up 1.15% at 7,174, BBCA to BBRI Shares Shine
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – The Composite Stock Price Index (JCI) closed higher in trading today, Thursday (7/5/2026). According to data from the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI), the JCI rose 1.15 per cent or added 81.85 points to the level of 7,174.32.
Throughout the trading session, the JCI today moved in the range of 7,107.18 to 7,207.07. The index opened at the level of 7,160.79 and remained in positive territory until the close of trading.
The strengthening of the JCI was supported by the majority of major indices. The LQ45 Index rose 1.62 per cent to 693.79, while the KOMPAS100 strengthened 1.00 per cent to 968.62.
Meanwhile, the IDX30 surged 2.12 per cent to 388.84, and the JII70 edged up slightly by 0.18 per cent to 183.16.
Blue-chip banking stocks were the main pillars supporting the JCI’s strengthening today. BBCA shares led the gains after surging 275 points or 4.62 per cent to Rp6,225 per share.
BBRI shares also strengthened by 150 points or 4.75 per cent to Rp3,310 per share. This increase was the highest in percentage terms among the jumbo bank group.
The strengthening of these major bank stocks also propelled the financial sector, which closed up 1.98 per cent at 1,405.88.
In addition to the financial sector, the health sector recorded the highest increase of 2.01 per cent to 1,687.66. The property sector strengthened 1.33 per cent to 939.52, and the infrastructure sector rose 1.29 per cent to 2,125.73.
The industrial sector also strengthened 1.03 per cent to 2,078.96. Furthermore, the non-primary consumer goods sector rose 0.81 per cent to 757.47, the technology sector strengthened 0.48 per cent to 7,670.60, and the primary consumer goods sector rose 0.44 per cent to 1,098.35.
Trading activity was brisk with a volume of 39.89 billion shares and a market capitalisation of Rp12,782 trillion. A total of 370 shares strengthened and 315 shares weakened.
Among the stocks, the top gainers were led by DPUM shares, which rose 42 points or 35.00 per cent.
Next, NATO shares strengthened 155 points (25.00 per cent) to 775, and ALKA rose 145 points (24.79 per cent) to 730.
