Jakarta - The Composite Stock Price Index (JCI) trimmed its correction, closing just below the day’s opening level. The JCI fell 0.03 percent or 2.20 points to 7,621.38 at the close of trading on Thursday, 16 April 2026.

Based on monitoring via Stockbit, the JCI continued to decline to 7,577. After that, the index rebounded to 7,634 but eroded back to 7,606, then rose slightly to the final position around 7,621.

The transaction value was recorded at Rp18.14 trillion with a trading volume of 398.10 million shares. Meanwhile, the number of trades conducted by market participants totalled 2.64 million transactions.

Notably, the majority of stock sectors actually booked positive results, led by a surge in the transportation sector of 3.36 percent. The health sector rose 2.37 percent, the technology sector strengthened 1.45 percent, the industrial sector increased 0.95 percent, the non-cyclical sector rose 0.13 percent, and the financial sector climbed 0.11 percent.

In contrast, the infrastructure sector fell 0.60 percent, followed by the basic materials sector weakening 0.39 percent. Declines were also recorded in the property sector at 0.35 percent, the cyclical sector down 0.22 percent, and the energy sector shrinking 0.07 percent.

The Phintraco Sekuritas Analysis Team stated that expectations of negotiations between the United States (US) and Iran that could halt the war remain a positive factor. The JCI support factor is also the expectation of falling global crude oil prices.

“However, technically, the JCI’s condition still in the overbought area is driving profit taking,” the Phintraco Sekuritas Analysis Team explained in its daily research on Thursday, 16 April 2026.

Several issuers still strengthened despite the JCI’s decline. Here are the three stocks with the highest price jumps (top gainers) in the blue-chip (LQ45) category.
