JCI Closes Lower at 7,594 Today, All Sectors in Red
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The Composite Stock Price Index (JCI) closed lower in trading on Monday (20/4/2026). According to data from the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI), the JCI fell 39.89 points or 0.52% to 7,594.11.
The JCI opened at 7,663.39 and initially strengthened in the early session, reaching a high of 7,692.14, before reversing course to close in the red.
Throughout the trading day, 247 stocks rose, 424 fell, and 148 remained unchanged.
In terms of transactions, the market recorded a trading volume of 40.61 billion shares with a value of Rp16.66 trillion and 2,455,424 transactions. Market capitalisation stood at Rp13,559 trillion.
Other Sharia indices such as the ISSI also weakened by 0.69% to 275.01, while the IDX30 fell 0.49% to 401.50 and the JII70 declined 0.72% to 199.21.
From a sectoral perspective, all indices closed in the red, indicating widespread selling pressure across the market.
The energy sector recorded the largest decline of 1.34%, followed by the transportation sector down 0.84% and the industrials sector weakening 0.64%.
The technology sector also corrected by 1.29%, while the non-cyclical consumer sector fell 1.06% and the cyclical consumer sector weakened 1.19%.
The property sector saw the deepest correction with a 2.04% drop, followed by the health care sector down 0.81%.
Big cap stocks show mixed movements, UNVR to TPIA pressure the index
Pressure on the JCI also came from several large-cap stocks. PT Unilever Indonesia Tbk (UNVR) fell 2.41% to Rp1,820, PT Chandra Asri Pacific Tbk (TPIA) dropped 2.02% to Rp6,075, and PT Pantai Indah Kapuk Dua Tbk (PANI) corrected 1.96% to Rp8,750.
Meanwhile, several big cap stocks managed to stay in positive territory. PT Bank Central Asia Tbk (BBCA) rose 0.78% to Rp6,475, PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBRI) strengthened 0.29% to Rp3,440, and PT Dian Swastatika Sentosa Tbk (DSSA) gained 0.62% to Rp3,270.
