The Jakarta Composite Index (JCI) on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) closed higher on Tuesday, lifted by strengthening property sector shares. The JCI ended up 70.43 points, or 1.19%, at 5,986.50. Meanwhile, the LQ45 index of 45 leading stocks rose 10.44 points, or 1.79%, to 549.92.

“The JCI closed higher in Tuesday’s trading, amidst still relatively thin trading volume and value,” said Phintraco Sekuritas Head of Research Ratna Lim in Jakarta on Tuesday. Domestically, property sector shares recorded gains, with the IDXProperty index strengthening by 3.03%, while two newly listed IPO shares hitting the upper auto-rejection limit also supported the index’s rise.

Ratna added that positive sentiment also came from Indonesia’s foreign exchange reserves data for June 2026, which increased to USD 145.6 billion from USD 144.9 billion in May 2026. Another sentiment factor was the House of Representatives’ proposal to reduce the budget for the Free Nutritious Meals programme for 2027.

“The JCI is expected to potentially continue its rally tomorrow and test the psychological level of 6,000, but the potential for a short-term pullback due to profit-taking should be watched,” Ratna stated. From abroad, market participants are awaiting the release of the Federal Reserve’s FOMC minutes, scheduled for Wednesday US time. The minutes contain a detailed summary of discussions, economic projections, and the rationale behind the Fed’s monetary policy decisions.

After opening higher, the JCI remained in positive territory until the close of the first trading session. In the second session, the JCI stayed in the green until the end of trading. Based on the IDX-IC sectoral indices, ten sectors strengthened, led by the property sector which rose 3.03%, followed by the non-primary consumer goods and financial sectors, which gained 1.59% and 1.42% respectively. The technology sector was the only one to weaken, falling 0.54%.

Stocks experiencing the largest price gains included APLN, LAND, NTBK, BIPP, and RODA. Meanwhile, stocks recording the largest declines were COCO, TRUS, MMIX, LAPD, and LUCY. Trading frequency was recorded at 1,658,000 transactions, with 21.21 billion shares traded for a total value of IDR 10.13 trillion. A total of 450 stocks advanced, 222 declined, and 289 remained unchanged. Regional Asian bourses this afternoon saw the Nikkei index fall 2.04%, the Shanghai index weaken 1.26%, the Hang Seng index drop 0.51%, and the Strait Times index rise 1.43%.
